Montreal born entertainer, violinist and singer Marc Angers premiered in Germany as opening act for legendary Deep Purple.
The two showcases in the Gerry Weber Stadium in Halle, Westfalen and in the Sport- und Kongresshalle in Schwerin were arranged on very short notice by Heinz Preisch, executive of Munich based concert agency KBK. Nonetheless Marc Angers managed to impress not only audience and critics but also Purpleʼs bass player Roger Glover who shook hands with the young redhead in the wake of his stunning performance.
There is rumor now that Marc, whose first claim to fame was being a finalist in the TV casting show «Star Académie» in Canada, will support Deep Purple also on their second leg of the 2012 German tour. Says a still moved but happy artist: «It was a dream come true to play in front of Deep Purple's audience and I was totally surprised by the friendly reception the people gave me. I hope I can come back to make more friends in Germany».
